New Release: Electric Sea Spider

This week’s release is the greatly anticipated return of Electric Sea Spider.  Mohican Beats is, as the artist describes it, “a beat tape of sorts,” comprised of found sounds and original samples with a much heavier emphasis on hip-hop than previous ESS releases.

P.S.  With this release comes a very important announcement.  One week from today, Electric Sea Spider’s first two releases will be retired.  Out of respect for our listeners, you have one more week to download Fear God Fear Satan and In Lucid Dreams.

New Release: Fira Fem

This week’s new release is the long-awaited EP by Spanish artist Fira Fem, titled Mascot Humans Disco.  If you like any of the stuff you’ve heard on this label before, you’ve got to check this release out.  Wonderful tunes that sound like a completely new take on the sort of thing done by bands like The Books and Tortoise.

Blog: The Enright House Takes Another Stab At Distance

Fear not, fans of The Enright House!  It seems Mark has been busy lately.  Two days ago, we posted about his excellent track featured in the Beginning, Middle & End trailer (as well as the full film, I believe).  Today, we found a nice little bit of goodness on The Enright House’s website.  Call it a redo, a rehash, a response or whatever, The Enright House is currently giving away a new version of Distance, a song that can be found on this release here.

New Releases: 6 July 2010

Is it Tuesday already?  Well, you know what that means!  New free music from mam!records.

Our first release today is Sam Thomas‘ amazing “Continuous Soundtrack.”  Designed to score a large number of potential films, it covers a wide range of genres – much like his band’s recent EP here – AND this piece is available for free use in your film projects with proper credit.

The second release today is the first full-length collaborative effort from Dad School and Given Willingly.  These guys are long-time mam!records family members, and with this release you get something specific to their combined styles.  Sometimes ambient, sometimes noisy, sometimes shoegazey – you get the picture.

You can stream, download and comment on today’s new releases by clicking the album cover below.  I’m sure the artists would love to hear what you think!
