WSUM 91.7 FM Madison and Mine All Mine Records present “Live on U DUB,” a live CD compilation release party and fundraising event at the Dragonfly Lounge on Saturday, December 15th, 2012. The release party will showcase Wisconsin’s rich reggae community, including T.U.G.G. (LA CROSSE), Roots Collective (MADISON), a collaborative set by Kingtown Rockers & Super Irie (MADISON), as well as set-DJ and compilation curator DJ Kayla Kush.

Paid entry to the release party includes one free copy of “Live on U DUB” (while supplies last*), which features ten tracks recorded live on U DUB at WSUM 91.7 FM Madison, documenting the show’s history so far. The CD features performances by TakI Allstars, Natty Nation, Unity the Band, and more. Additional copies of the CD compilation will be available online and at the event, digitally and physically. All proceeds from the release party and CD will help support WSUM, Madison’s award-winning student and community radio station.

“Live on U DUB” was curated by radio host DJ Kayla Kush, with help from Mine All Mine Records and Lost City Music Festival founder John Praw Kruse. Kayla Kush is an ardent supporter of reggae and music in Madison through her radio show, live DJ-ing, and the Murfie Podcast. Similarly, Mine All Mine has been a frequent supporter of benefit events, including the Lost City Music Festival. Their events have raised money for the Madison Area Music Association, SlaveFree Madison, and others. U DUB airs live on WSUM Wednesdays at 7:00 PM.

*Ticket pre-orders are guaranteed a copy of “Live on U DUB.”

New Release: bell monks – let the waves carry us

BUY THIS: Double CD – $10
BUY THIS: Digital – $5 Minimum

Following a successful Kickstarter Campaign, “let the waves carry us” is the culmination of bell monks’ 2011 year-long recording project, for which the band wrote, recorded and released a 2-track package each month. At the end of the year, friends and musicians were invited to remix some of their favorite pieces from the monthly packages. The finished album includes 9 of the original 24 songs, with some re-recorded with additional material, and is being released along with 12 remixes, most of which are dramatic re-imaginations of the original tune.

Buzz: Cribshitter featured on Jalopnik. People don’t get it…

Click here to check out what Jalopnik has to say about Cribshitter’s new video for Mint Car.
