Pushmi-Pullyu - Never Love A Stranger

We’re happy to announce that Pushmi-Pullyu’s upcoming album, Never Love A Stranger, is now streaming for a limited time on Madison’s own Arts Extract.  Until the release on July 2nd, you can stream Never Love A Stranger in its entirety here.

Here’s what Arts Extract’s Scott Gordon had to say about the album:

Madison’s Pushmi-Pullyu has evolved over the years from a sparse electronic-pop solo project to a full-band vehicle for John Kruse’s wandering, frequently morose songs. The five-piece comprises Kruse on keyboards, glockenspiel and vocals; Corey Murphy on keyboards; Luke Annear on drums; Tom Teslik on guitar; and Sam Ludwig on saxophone. Stream the band’s first album, Never Love A Stranger, for free in its entirety until its release on July 2. The album is available through Mine All Mine Records, and the band will celebrate with a July 24 show at the Memorial Union Terrace.

BOYS (MISSOULA)

A Haircut (MADISON)
“In the band A Haircut, Lutz yelps over fat, fuzzy guitar tones and Trester’s simple drum patterns. Titles on their eight-song demo include “Lizard Skin” and “A Native Scalping.” Before forming A Haircut, Lutz played in a Milwaukee folk duo called Audrea, which once covered Misfits’ “Last Caress,” singing about a baby’s death over cheerful tambourine and harmonica. “Soul Low is a three piece Indie/Rock band made up of Sam Gehrke, Jake Balistrieri & Charlie Celenaza. Based out of Milwaukee, the group seemed to come to a complete halt last year when Gehrke took of for school.
