mam!records founder John Praw and Münster, Germany natives I Am The Architect have teamed up to bring you “Gate,” a post-rock/ambient split. I Am The Architect bring their epic post-rock track “Walk in Regret” with its soaring melody and whirling sounds. Unlike some post-rock outfits, I Am The Architect take care not to present overly-long climaxes or stereotypical post-rock facets. The result is a distinct take on the post-rock genre – something that sounds specifically “I Am The Architect.” The compliment to “Walk in Regret” is John Praw’s ambient/minimalist track, “Sin Egen Veg.” John Praw’s addition incorporates laptop-folk elements, evoking feelings of bitter “Goodbye”s. The final track is John Praw’s remix of the I Am The Architect track, which will certainly be surprising for those who know John Praw only for his ambient work.

Listening to the first track now, very cool sound.
this is awesome
Thanks guys.
For some reason this message got marked as spam, Corey.
Hmm… torrent’s not working?
Anyway, the I Am The Architect track sounds amazing. Pretty orchestral… Are there violins in it or are those the guitars? Either way it kicks ass.
Also, it’s a lot tighter than most post-rock bands nowadays, the drummer’s a beast… production on the drums could have been a tiny bit better though… but I’m just nitpicking.
Gute Arbeit, Kameraden :D
I’ve uploaded the torrents to mininova three times, and they aren’t showing up for whatever reason.
Oh and John your track is great, too. Am I right to think that in the future John Praw stuff will feature more of those pretty sounds while Beklager will feature the darker, jagged ideas?
Kind of. That’s the general idea. Beklager will be the doomy stuff (maybe a full band when I get back to the states (which is less than a day, btw).
I might bring back The Purple Paring Knife for some drone recordings.
Sorry for all the multiple posts… I’m just writing along while listening. The remix is ace… you should have someone rap over it ;)
Not a problem. And that can be arranged…
Heeeey look at that.
Always looking for something new to own. Looks like this might be it.
